PURPOSE: To provide a negative electrode with flexibility, light weight, high cycle-performance, and capable of charging/discharging even at high current density and provide a high performance secondary battery using this electrode by forming a negative current collector with a metallic material insoluble in an electrolyte.
CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode integrally formed with a current collector made of a metallic material insoluble in an electrolyte, and a solid electrolyte. The current collector is preferably a porous current collector such as an expanded metal. As a polymer layer of the polymer solid electrolyte, a crosslinked polymer of crosslinkable, polymerizable monomers is preferable. As a host compound for forming the negative electrode, capable of reversibly absorbing/desorbing a lithium ion, a mixture of a graphite material and a different kind carbon material from the graphite material is preferable. As the electrolyte, a compound having CF3 SOx (x is 2 or 3) units is preferable.
