To provide a negative reaction force transmitting structure for a girder bridge capable of permitting a horizontal displacement or a rotational displacement of a main girder in a normal state and also capable of transmitting or transferring a negative reaction force occurred to the main girder to a parapet during an earthquake and further capable of transmitting or transferring any stresses after decreasing them.
This negative reaction force transmitting structure is for transmitting or transferring a negative reaction force, which is acting to a main girder 4, into an abutment 1 in the girder bridge wherein a main girder end portion 4a is supported by the girder bridge through a movable bearing 5. A protruding portion 10 is made to a tip of the main girder end portion 4a; this protruding portion 10 is located through an opening 11 made in a parapet 3 of the abutment 1 in such a manner that gaps can be created at the top and bottom of the protruding portion 10; a cushioning member 12 is installed to a top surface of the protruding portion 10; and a gap S is provided between a top surface of the cushioning member 12 and an inner surface of the opening 11. In addition, the cushioning member 12 has a slipping function.
