Abstract:
PURPOSE: A nematic liquid crystal composition having positive dielectric constant anisotropy useful for guest-host liquid crystal display element, having low viscosity and high dyestuff orientation properties, obtained by blending specific four kinds of liquid crystal compounds.
CONSTITUTION: (A) Preferably 5W30wt% compound shown by the formula I (R1 and R2 are 1W8C straight-chain alkyl) is blended with (B) preferably 10W50wt% compound shown by the formula II (R3 is 1W8C straight-chain alkyl), (C) preferably 5W40wt% compound shown by the formula III (R4 and R5 are 1W8C straight-chain alkyl) and (D) preferably 5W30wt% compound shown by the formula IV (R6 and R7 are 1W8C straight-chain alkyl), to give the aimed liquid crystal composition.
