PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepared a new three-component mixed oxide coating soln. and a size-stable anode prepared from the soln.
SOLUTION: A coating soln. of this invention is applied on a surface of valve metal to prepare a stable anode surface. The new coating soln. used therefor contains two or more soluble platinum metal compounds and at least one soluble valve metal compound, and also contains an anhydrous solvent comprising an anhydrous lower alkyl alcohol and an anhydrous volatile acid as the solvent. The coated metal is heated to convert the compounds into their oxides.
