Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide network device/means for providing two-way wide band communication by providing conversion devices and adding a single communication route to the existing one-way or extremely unbalanced wide band two-way communication network. SOLUTION: The conversion device(MFN) 403... are provided for the communication network, containing a distribution device(FN) 420 for transmitting frequency division multiplex(FDM) signals from a central station(CO) 110 to plural terminal equipments(EU) 311... MFN 430 is connected to an access route 310 and it receives a downstream second FDM signal from CO110 through fiber routes 404 and 405, and transmits the second FDM signal to at least one EU through the access route 310. MFN 403 receives an upstream FDM signal from at least one EU through the access route 310 and transmits the upstream FDM signal from at least one EU through the fiber routes 404 and 405. Thus, the network device/means for providing the two-way wide band communication are provided.
