Abstract:
To provide a network device in which transmission setting is stably negotiated between a PHY device connected to a counter device and an SW device (MAC switch) in the auto-negotiation of transmission setting with the counter device.
In the network system, an SW device 2 is made monitor and change setting data (transmission setting) on the transmission speed and the transmission mode of a PHY device 1, namely, the SW device 2 itself does not have an auto-negotiation function but a control part 3 monitors transmission setting of the PHY device 1. When a change in transmission setting of the PHY device 1 is detected, the control part 3 changes transmission setting of the SW device 2 into new transmission setting of the PHY device 1.
