Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network interface device which can be used in common to both OA devices of different current capacities.
SOLUTION: This network interface device is connected to such OA devices as a printer, copying machine, FAX, scanner, etc., and receives the supply of power to secure the network interfaces among these OA devices. Then the interface device consists of an extension interface control part 3 which controls the interfaces to perform the supply of power from the OA devices and the transfer of data to the OA devices, a CPU 5, a network controller 8 and a lock frequency control part 1 which variably controls the clock frequency to the part 3. Then the part 3 inquires of the OA devices about the current capacity that can be supplied from the OA devices, and the part 1 controls the clock frequency to suppress the current consumption of the network interface device within the said current capacity.
