Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce communication traffic necessary for a monitor system in a large-scale network composed of a plurality of small-scale networks.SOLUTION: A network monitoring method includes: receiving a first test signal from another network; comparing the priority of the first test signal with the priority of the self-device; transmitting a generated third test signal to the self-network and another network than a transmission line of a termination point, when a first test signal is not received, or when the priority of the self-device is higher than the priority of the first test signal, and transmitting, when the priority of the self-device is the priority of the first test signal or lower, the first test signal to the self-network other than the transmission line of the termination point and the other network than the transmission line through which the first test signal is received; receiving a second test signal, related to the transmitted first test signal or the third test signal, from the transmission line of the termination point of the self-network; and confirming the existence or non-existence of the reception of the second test signal, to output the result.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
