To provide a network monitoring system for monitoring an operation state of nodes.
The network monitoring system includes: a connection relation information storing part; a data receiving part; an operation state determination part; a first data transfer part for transferring operation state data to a first storing means when the operation state determination part determines the node 200 transmitting the operation state data is in a normal operation state; a connection destination-specifying part for specifying the another node 200 connected to the node 200 transmitting the operation state data based on the correspondence relation of node identification information which the connection relation information storing part stores when the operation state determination part determines the node 200 transmitting the operation state data is not in the normal operation state; and a second data transfer part for transferring the operation state data transmitted from the node 200 determined as not in the normal operation state, and communication failure data transmitted from the another node 200 specified by the connection destination-specifying part to a second storing means having a read/write speed faster than that of the first storing means.
