Abstract:
To provide a network relay apparatus efficiently using data areas.
Received packet data are divided and stored, by a write section 131, for the unit of the predetermined number of bytes in a buffer memory 132 so as to be managed by addresses, respectively and stored addresses are managed by management data. The management data are comprised of write addresses of a plurality of address information, next indicating an address of the next management data in a queue, and pointer indicating write/read positions of the address information. Addresses storing packet data are stored in the address information in order and management data are linked by the next for each queue, thereby packet data of the queue are managed.
