PURPOSE: To set a reading condition remotely at a position remote from an original reader by sending the operating condition of an original reader to the original reader via a network.

CONSTITUTION: The network system is made up of a device turning over sequentially pages of a book original, reading the plural pages of the book original continuously and converting the image signal into an electric signal and up of one or plural information processing units through interconnection of them. The information reader sets the operating condition of the original reader and sends the condition to the original reader. Furthermore, in the case of setting the operation condition, a read start page and an end page of the book original are set.
