Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neuraminic acid derivative exhibiting Langerhans cell-activating action and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: According to the invention, a neuraminic acid derivative of interest is a derivative consisting of one molecule of neuraminic acid and one molecule of glutamine, which are bound by a peptidic linkage. A method for producing such a derivative consists of the steps of adding branched cyclodextrin to a fermentation broth in which Morchella esculenta and soybean are fermented with Bacillus natto. Here, the neuraminic acid derivative can also be used for health foods, cosmetics, medicines, and quasi-drugs for the purpose of immunomodulation, anti-allergy, skin-beautifying action, measures against atopy, and antioxidant action by generation of hydrogen gas. A synergistic action with EGF is also recognized.SELECTED DRAWING: None
