Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a simple, efficient and profitable method for treating formaldehyde and a formaldehyde-containing solution and a composition therefor.
CONSTITUTION: Formaldehyde or the formaldehyde-containing solution is brought into contact with the composition containing a compound, which is selected from a group of 30-55 wt.% urea and 3-12 wt.% phosphoric acid and ammonium chloride, and the balance water to neutralize the almost all of the formaldehyde or the formaldehyde-containing solution with the composition to generate a reaction product and the reaction product is wasted.
