Abstract:
To provide new 13- and 14-membered erythromycin derivative useful as antibacterial, antiprotozoal and/or prokinetic agents, and to provide an intermediate useful for producing the compounds.
The active compounds are antibacterial and antiprotozoal agents which can be used for treating various bacterial and antiprotozoal infections and diseases related to the infections. A pharmaceutical composition containing the compounds, and a method for treating the bacterial and antiprotozoal infections by the administration of the compounds.
