Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a new compd. useful as a treating agent of cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure and hypertension, acting on cardiovascular system.
CONSTITUTION: A deriv. of formula I {the dotted line shows α- or β- configulation, Z- or E-configulation; when a double line of dotted line and solid line is a single bond, Y is β-OR4 [R4 is 2-4C alkyl or H, which is substd. with NHC(=NH)NH2, etc.], when the double line is a double bond, Y is the group of formula II or III (R1 is H, 2-6C alkyl or the like; R5 is H, 2-4C alkyl or the like; R6 and R7 are each methyl, 2-4C alkyl or the like); R2 is H or methyl; R3 is H or hydroxy}, e.g. (E)-17β-hydroxyiminomethyl-5β-androstane-3β,14β-diol. The compd. is obtained by condensation reaction of a compd. of formula IV with a compd. of formula H2NOR1 in a solvent such as ethanol at 0°C to a temp. up to b.p. of the solvent.
