Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound, excellent in flexibility and biodegradability and suitable as a soft base, etc., for hair treating agents, etc., without stickiness in drying.
CONSTITUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I {R1 and R2 are 1-4C alkyl; R3 is 2-6C alkylene or alkenylene; R4 is 7-35C alkyl or alkenyl; R5 is H, 1-4C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; X is halogen, sulfate, bisulfate, (1-4C hydroxy group-substituted)carboxylate or 1-4C alkyl sulfate; Y is C3H6NH or CmH2m-O [(m) is 2-9]; (n) is 2-9}, e.g. a compound expressed by formula II. Furthermore, the compound expressed by formula I is obtained by reacting an amine expressed by formula III with an acidic substance or a quaternizing agent expressed by formula IV.
