Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide new antibiotic substances Mer-NF8054A and X useful as an antimycotic agent and producible by culturing a microbial strain belonging to the genus Aspergillus and capable of producing the antibiotic substance Mer-NF8054A or X and collecting the product from the cultured product.
CONSTITUTION: A microbial strain belonging to the genus Aspergillus and capable of producing an antibiotic substance Mer-NF8054A or antibiotic substance Mer-NF8054X [e.g. Aspergillus ustus Mer-NF8054a (FERM P-13236)] is inoculated on a medium and cultured at 28°C for 88hr under aeration and agitation. The cultured liquid is separated into microbial cells and supernatant by filtration and the obtained cells are extracted with methanol. The extracted liquid is concentrated, diluted with water, extracted with ethyl acetate and concentrated to dryness. The obtained solid is dissolved in chloroform and purified by column chromatography to obtain the antimycotic antibiotic substance Mer-NF8054A and Mer-NF8054X expressed by formula (X is CH2 or CO).
