Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound useful as an antitumor, an antiinflammatory agents, etc.

CONSTITUTION: The objective compound of the formula having the following physical properties: Melting point; ≥260°C (browning). Molecular formula; C27H23N3O4. Molecular weight; 453,672 [electron ionization high-resolution mass spectrometry (EI-HR-MS)] and 453.1687 (calculated value). Specific rotatory power; [a]D22=+147° (c; 0.2, dimethyl sulfoxide). Infrared absorption spectrum; as shown in the figure. Solubility; readily soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide, slightly sparingly soluble in methanol, chloroform, ethyl acetate and acetone and insoluble in water and n-hexane. Color of the substance; light yellow. This compound is obtained by culturing a strain of Streptomyces.sp. RK88-1409 (FERM P-11952) in a culture medium under aerobic conditions.
