Abstract:
To obtain the subject new compound useful as an interleukin 1 βinhibitor.
This compound is represented by the formula [R1 is a halogen, OH, a 1-6C alkoxy or the like; Ra and Rb are each H, OH or a (substituted) 1-6C alkyl; X is O, S or NR (R is H or a 1-6C alkyl); R2 is a (substituted) imidazolyl, benzimidazol-1-yl or the like; R2, is H or a (substituted) aryl], e.g. 2-phenoxymethyl-5-(imidazol-1-yl)benzimidazol. The compound of the formula is obtained by hydrogenating, e.g. 1-(3-amino-4-nitrophenyl)imidazole obtained by reaction of imidazole with 2-amino-4-chloronitrobenzene and further reacting the resultant 1-(3,4-diaminophenyl)imidazole with phenoxyacetic acid.
