To obtain a new compound capable of acting as siderophore or a biological chelate and suitable for introducing an active ingredient, e.g. an antibiotic, into microbial cells through the microbial iron-transporting route.
This compound is such one expressed by formula I {R1 is H, a COalkyl or COOalkyl; R2 is H, an alkyl or a halogen; R3 is Z-CHR4-COR5 [Z is expressed by formula II (R6 is H, an alkyl, etc.; R7 is H or an acyl; (n) is 1-10; (m) is 1-2); R4 is H, an alkyl, OH, an acyloxyphenyl, etc.; R5 is an active substance's residue bound via OH- or NH-, specifically, a residue of an antibiotic, etc.], etc.}, e.g. (8-methoxycarbonyloxy-2,4-dioxo-benzoxazin-3-yl)-acetic acid. The compound of formula I is obtained by, e.g. subjecting a 2,3- diacycloxobenzoyl chloride, and amino acid and the amino component of a dipeptide, etc., to condensation reaction in a sodium bicarbonate solution according to the reaction formula of formula III.
