PURPOSE: To prepare cutting oil formulation useful for working metals by using a bioresistant surfactant comprised of a soap derived from a carboxylic acid compound having 10-30 carbon atoms represented by specific general formula.
CONSTITUTION: This bioresistant surfactant is prepared by using a soap synthesized from a carboxylic acid compound having 10-30 carbon atoms represented by formula I (R1, R2 are each H or an alkyl group, R3 is an alkyl group, the total number of carbon atoms of R1, R2, R3 is in the range of 8-28; when R1, R2 are each H, R3 is an alkyl group having a branched carbon framework). The bioresistant cutting fluid composition is prepared by mixing the bioresistant surfactant with a lubricating base-stock. The polymers of ethylene, propylene, butene, isobutene or the other α-olefins are cited as the suitable examples of the lubricating base-stock.
