Title:
NEW BISPHOSPHINES FOR ASYMMETRIC HYDROGENATION CATALYST
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3681418
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide new enantiomerically pure bisphosphines which are useful for complexes being effective for performing a specified asymmetric hydrogenation with high yield and good enantiomer selectivity
CONSTITUTION: The objective compounds of a morphology (R) or (S) of formula I (wherein R is H or a 1-4C alkyl; R1 is H; R2 is Cl or R1 and R2 are together the formula II), e.g. (R)-(-)-(6,6'-dichloro-biphenyl-2,2'-diyl)bis-diphenylphosphine. In addition, the aimed compounds are pref. obtd. by a method wherein a halogenophenyl compd. of the formula III (wherein Hal is a halogen, especially Br) and diphenylphosphinic acid chloride of the formula IV are reacted with together e.g. by Grignard's reaction and after the second position of the compd. obtd. is metallized with Li, it is reacted with iodine and the compd. obtd. is dimerized by means of Ulman coupling to produce a racemic compd. of formula V and after it is separated, enantiomers are generated and reduction is performed.
