Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new colorant freed from light scattering and improved in transmittance characteristics and light and heat resistances by introducing a specified substituent into a chromogenic nucleus.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I (wherein Dye is a chromogenic nucleus) is reacted with a compound of formula II [wherein R1 to R8 are each H, halogeno, (un)substituted cycloalkyl; (un)substituted alkyl or (un)substituted alkoxy; R9 and R10 are each H or (un)substituted alkyl; and n is 1-10, provided that the total number of carbon atoms of R9 and R10 is 3 or larger] for 0.5-20hr at 50-200°C in the presence of a base such as CaCO3 or NaOH in the presence or absence of a solvent such as an aromatic hydrocarbon, a halohydrocarbon or a sulfur-containing solvent to obtain a colorant of formula III (wherein X is a direct bond or a bivalent bonding group). 100 pts.wt. binder polymer is mixed with 1-100 pts.wt. above colorant, 1-100 pts.wt. photopolymerizable polyfunctional monomer, 0.01-100 pts.wt. photopolymerization initiator and additives such as a polymerization inhibitor to obtain a resin composition.
