PROCESS: A 2-hydroxy-4-hydroxyalkoxybenzophenone and a diketone are used as starting materials to form a corresponding substd. benzophenone acetoacetate and then, this is reacted with ammonium acetate in the presence of hexamethylenetetramine by a well known method to obtain a compd. of the formula.
