To obtain a new compound having large affinity for 5-HT2c receptors and a strong serotonin reuptake-inhibiting property and effective for treating depression, panic fit, etc.

A compound of formula I [R1, R2 are each H, a 1-6C alkyl; A is a 1-6C alkylene, an alkenylene or the like; G1 is a group of formula II (R3, R4 are each H, a 1-6C alkyl, a cycloalkyl or the like)], its enantiomer, diastereomer or addition salt with a pharmaceutically acceptable acid or base, preferably 1-{3-[4-(5-methoxy-4-pyrimidinyl)-1-piperazinyl]propyl)-1H-indole-6- carbonitrile dihydrochloride. The compound of formula I is obtained by treating a compound of formula III as a starting substance in a basic medium and then treating the product with a compound of the formula: P-A-G1 (P is a releasing group).
