To provide a silane coupling agent capable of being cured by active energy rays, excellent in compatibility with resins, and capable of giving chemical resistance and stain resistance to a resin film, and to provide a curing composition containing the silane coupling agent, and to provide a method for producing a new compound used as a raw material for the silane coupling agent, capable of producing the compound under a mild condition.
This new compound having a maleimide group and an alkoxysilyl group together bonded through a urethane bond is obtained by reacting an alcohol having the maleimide group with a silane compound having an isocyanate group to synthesize the compound. The silane coupling agent contains the compound as an active ingredient.
