PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new compound for an antinumor agent effective as an anticancer substance for cancerous patients, having antitumor action by culturing Gambierdiscus toxicue of Dinoblagellate and collecting the product from the culture mixture.
CONSTITUTION: A medium is injected into a turnip type flask, sterilized, mixed with a sterilized and filtered vitamin mixed solution and a culture mixture of Gambierdiscus toxicus of Dinoblagellate is subjected to stationary culture at 25°C under a daily 6,000lux illumination brightness for 16 hours and darkness for 8 hours for 21 days. The culture solution is filtered by filter paper, the prepared algae-containing filtrate is mixed with methanol, disrupted by ultrasonic wave for 30 minutes and filtered to give a methanol-extracted solution, which is concentrated to distill away the solvent, partitioned with 60% methanol and dichloromethane to collect dichloromethane-soluble fraction, and then purified by gel filtration and reversed phase chromatography to give the objective new compound RGT-2 of the formula having antitumor activity.
