Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare the subject new compound which is a specific compound containing rhenium and aluminum and having catalytic actions on a metathetic reaction of an olefin in the homogeneous phase by reacting rhenium heptoxide with an organoaluminum compound.
SOLUTION: This new compound is represented by the formula [R is a 1-40C hydrocarbon; (n) is an integer of 1-10; (x) is 0 or 1; L is a solvent], has catalytic actions on a metathetic reaction of an olefin in the homogeneous phase, contains rhenium and aluminum and is soluble in a hydrocarbon medium for a catalyst composition, etc. [e. g. bis(2, 6-di-t-butyl-4-methylphenoxy) isobutylaluminum]. The compound is prepared by reating rhenium heptoxide with an organoaluminum compound represented by the formula (RO)qAlR'r {R' is a 1-20C alkyl; (q) and (r) are each 1 or 2 and [(q)+(r)] is 3} [e.g. bis(2,6- di-t-butyl-4-methylphenoxy)isobutylaluminum] in tetrahydrofuran.
