PURPOSE: To obtain the subject substance which has a specific chemical composition and an X-ray diffraction pattern by specifying forming components and an organic diamine used for a synthetic precursor mixture.

CONSTITUTION: The crystalline aluminophosphate and relative compounds have the chemical composition; mR(XnAlqPx)Oz and X-ray diffraction pattern containing lines given in at least tables A to F (only A is shown). In the formula, R represents 1,4-diaminobutane and X represents more than one kind of element that can be substituted for Al and/or P; and m=0-0.33, n=0-0.40, q, x=0.30-0.60, and n+q+x=1. Then R has a basic 1,4-diaminobutane structure having four C atoms bridging two N atoms linearly. Various sources are present initially in ratios of R:Al2O3=0.1-3, X:Al2O3=0-2, P:Al2O3=0.3-1.3, H2O:Al2 O3=30-500 in a solution or gel of the precursor mixture held at elevated temperature for a sufficient time.
