Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: Compounds of the formula I in which R' represents H, a 1-8C alkyl, 2-8C alkenyl or 1-6C acyl, etc., and R represents (substd.) a 1-14C aryl or a (substd.) mono- or poly-cyclic heterocyclic arom. radical.
EXAMPLE: 1-(Benzenesulfonyl)-2-oxo-5-ehtylthiopyrrolidine.
USE: Treatment for intellectual or nervous asthenias, memory failures, senescence or mental fatigue.
PREPARATION: A new compd. of the formula II is allowed to react with a compd. of the formula III, in which Hal represents Cl or Br, to obtain a compd. of the formula I. The reaction is carried out in the presence of a strong base such as butyl lithium in a solvent such as THF, benzene and DMF.
