Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: The compounds of formula I and formula II [(n) is 1 or 2; R1 is H, methyl or acetyl; X is O, N-R2 (R2 is H or 1-18C alkyl) Y is H, 1-18C alkyl or phenyl; Z is H, 1-18C alkyl; one of two Y and Z are 1-12C alkylene when n=2].
EXAMPLE: 2,6-dimethyl-3,5-bis[(1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidyl)oxycarbonyl]-1,4- dihydropyridine.
USE: The thermal stabilizer and light stabilizer of a polymer. Further effective as an antioxidant.
PROCESS: Acetoacetic ester of formula III or acetoacetoamide is reacted with aldehyde of the formula, Y-(COH)n and amine of the formula, Z-(-NH2)n, to obtain the compounds of formula I and formula II.
