Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound capable of providing various kinds of polyarylenethio ethers by heat polymerization.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I (Y1 and Y2 are halogen; Ar is 6-24C aromatic compound and may contain hetero atoms of N, O and S; R1 to R8 are H, alkyl or alkoxyl; X is O or S), e.g. bis(4-(4-bromophenoxy)phenyl)disulfide. The compound of formula I is synthesized by condensation reaction of an arylene ether compound or an arylene thioether compound of formula II with a disulfiding agent.
