USE: An active ingredient for plant disease controlling agent, exhibiting action capable of remarkably suppressing proliferation of a pathogenic bacteria against a plant, especially Xanthomonas campestris pv. oryzae and growth of germ tube of Pyricularia oryzae and entirely free from fear of environmental pollution and useful as an extremely safe agricultural chemical free from pollution.
PREPARATION: For example, a healthy medicine homogenate of rice capable of exhibiting resistance to Xanthomonas campestris pv. oryzae is extracted with an ether and the concentrate is subjected to column chromatography and eluted concentrate is further subjected to thin-film chromatography to give an eluted fraction exhibiting antibacterial and antifungal activity and an antibacterial and antifungal ingredient is purified based on Rf value of thin-layer chromatography from the concentrate thereof to provide the compound expressed by formula I and formula III.
