NEW MATERIAL: The compd. of formula I [R is H or a 1-9C alkyl capable of having 2 to 3 substituents (an aryl, cycloalkyl, OH or the like); R1 is R or NHR4; R4 is H or OOCR5; R5 is methyl having 2 to 3 substituents such as an aryl or the like; R2 and R3 are each H or a 1-4C alkyl, and furthermore, R2 is OOCR5; (n) is 0, 1 or 2, where at least one among R and R1 to R3 is not H], the tautomers thereof and the acid addition salts thereof.
EXAMPLE: 1-(3-Phenyl-3-cyclohexyl-3-hydroxy)propyl-1,4,5,6-tetrahydropyrimidine hydrochloride.
USE: It is used as antimuscarinic agents useful for the treatment of dyskinesia in gastrointestinal tracts and genitourinary passages lacking in central action and peripheral action such as mydriasis, tachycardia and hydrodipsia and peptic ulcers.
PREPARATION: The compd. of the formula R-X (X is a leaving group) is reacted with a compd. of formula II at a temp. of 40 to 135°C in the presence of an inert solvent to obtain the compd. of the formula I (R is not H; R2 and R3 are each H).
