Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound useful as a glycosidase inhibitor, especially and α-L-fucosidase inhibitor.
CONSTITUTION: An alkyl-6-S-(5-amino-5-deoxy-β-D-arabinopyranosyl)-2- acetamido-2-deoxy-1,6-dithio-D-glucopyranoside of the formula (R is a 1-4C alkyl or benzyl; Ac is acetyl). This compound of the formula is obtained by reacting an N-protected-5-amino-5-deoxy-D-arabinopyranose with an alkyl-2- acetamido-3,4-O-acetyl-2-deoxyl-1,6-dithio-β-D-glucopyranoside (alkyl is a 1-4C alkyl or benzyl instead of the alkyl) and removing the protecting group.
