PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new substance containing a specific amino acid sequence having intramolecular disulfide bond, exhibiting an action to specifically suppress the production of IgE antibody and useful as an antiallergic agent for the treatment of bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A 4-methylbenzhydrylamine polystyrene resin bonded with 5-(4'-9- fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl-aminomethyl-3',5'-dimethoxyphenoxy)valeric acid is used as a solid-phase carrier resin for forming a C-terminal amide by solid- phase synthesis of a peptide. The resin is put into a column and swollen with dimethylformamide. A peptide chain is synthesized by successively bonding amino acids obtained by protecting α-amino group with 9- fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl (Fmoc) group to the swollen resin, the synthesized peptide is separated from the resin, the protective groups are removed from the peptide, intramolecular disulfide bond is formed in the product and the obtained substance is purified by high-performance liquid chromatography to obtain the objective peptide expressed by formula (Ac is acetyl).
