Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new microorganism capable of secreting an enzyme capable of carrying out the decomposition of a vegetable fiber-based waste in high efficiency, and further to provide a method for decomposing the vegetable fiber, e.g. the vegetable fiber-based waste by using the microorganism and the enzyme produced by the microorgnism.
SOLUTION: This new microorganism K32A strain belonging to the genus Cellulomonas exhibiting strong ability for decomposing various kinds of vegetable fibers is separated and collected from the soil or the like in a patty field. The decomposition treatment of the vegetable fiber-based waste of a cellulose, rice straw or the like can be carried out by allowing the microbial cells of the microorganisms, a culturing liquid of the microbial cells or a polysaccharide- splitting enzyme separated therefrom to act thereon.
