Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain novel microorganisms belonging to the genus Streptomyces and provide a method for producing 3α,7α-dihydroxy-12-keto-5β-cholanic acid using either of the microorganisms.
CONSTITUTION: These microorganisms are Streptomyces ITK58 and Streptomyces ITK82, belonging to the genus Streptomyces and having the ability to produce 3α,7α-dihydroxy-12-keto-5β-cholanic acid. Furthermore, this method for producing the 3α,7α-dihydroxy-12-keto-5β-cholanic acid is to culture either of the microorganisms in a nutrient culture medium containing 3α,7α,12α- trihydroxy-5β-cholanic acid, produce the 3α,7α-dihydroxy-12-keto-5β-cholanic acid in the resultant culture and collect the produced compound.
