Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formula I (R is H or lower alkyl; n is 0-2).
USE: An inhibitor for chitin decomposition enzymes such as chitinase and lysozyme and a cancer cell metastasis inhibitor.
PREPARATION: An N-acetylohitooligosaccharide of formula II (n is 0-3) is reacted with moranoline of formula III or an N-alkylmoranoline in the presence of chitinase or lysozyme in a solvent (e.g. methanol or DMF) preferably at pH3-7 and 30-60°C.
