NEW MATERIAL: A compd. of formula I (R1 and R2 are each H, Cl, a 1-4C alkyl, a 1-4C alkoxy, a 7-9C phenylalkyl, etc.; R3 and R4 are each H, a 1-12C alkyl, a 1-12C alkoxy, a 3-10C alkyl or a 4-12C alkoxy each with at least one -O-, etc.; n is 1 or 2; R5 is a 5-18C alkyl, a 2-10C hydroxyalkyl, a 5-12C cycloalkyl, a 2-18C alkenyl, etc., when n is 1; R5 is a 2-10C alkylene or hydroxyalkylene, a 5-12C cycloalkylene which can have OH, a 4-12C alkenylene, etc., when n is 2).
EXAMPLE: Compd. of formula II.
USE: A light stabilizer for org. materials, in particular for polymers. In addition, stabilizers against thermal degradation of polymers such as polyesters, polyamides and heat crosslinkable acrylic resins.
PROCESS: A compd. of formula III and a compd. of formula IV (X is Cl, Br, etc.), are reacted with together by a well known method to obtain a compd. of formula I.
