Abstract:
To provide a new treatment for type II diabetes based on stimulating, in meal, intrinsic secretion of insulin by using a short-acting oral hypoglycemic agent and administering the agent together with food.
This new treatment for treating the type II diabetes comprises stimulating, in meal, intrinsic insulin secretion by using the short-acting oral hypoglycemic agent and administering the agent together with food, and the treatment improves blood sugar regulation by combinedly applying repaglinide, gliquidone, and the like, with metformin to an NIDDM (non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus) patient capable of hardly regulating the serum glucose by administering the metformin alone.
