Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a new perfluoropolymer cross-linked in a high density, high in thermal distortion temperature and having a high elastic modulus at high temperatures by trimerizing the cyano group of a perfluorovinyl ether compound having a cyano group and subsequently polymerizing the vinyl ether group of the trimerization product.
CONSTITUTION: A cyano group-having perfluoro compound of the formula (R1 is 1-15C perfluoroalkylene group or perfluorooxyalkylene group) (e.g. perfluoro-4- oxa-6-heptenonitrile) is put in an autoclave, and reacted in the presence of copper powder at 150°C for 3 days to trimerize the cyano group of the compound of the formula (triazine ring formation reaction). The produced perfluorovinyl ether group-having triazine derivative is subjected to the radical polymerization of its vinyl group in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator such as diisopropyl perfluorodicarbonate to provide the objective perfluoropolymer cross-linked in a high density.
