Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new substance having phospholipase C inhibiting activity and useful for prevention, treatment, etc., for thrombosis, ischemic diseases, allergies, hypertension, etc., by culturing a microorganism which belongs to the genus Talaromyces and having AM6211 substance-producing ability.

CONSTITUTION: A microorganism [e.g. Talaromyces trachyspermus M6211 strain (FERM P-14058)] which belongs to the genus Talaromyces and having ability producing AM6211 substance is cultured to provide the objective new substance AM6211 having phospholiphase C inhibiting action specific to phosphatidyl inositol and the following properties: Specific rotation [α]D23, -3°±5° (C=1.0, in chloroform); molecular formula, C9H9NO5; solubility, soluble in methanol, acetonitrile, ethyl acetate, chloroform and dimethylsulfoxide and insoluble in water and hexane; color reaction, positive to iodine vapor reaction and potassium permanganate decoloration reaction and negative to ferric chloride reaction, Dragendorff's reaction and Fehling's reaction.
