Abstract:
To obtain a bacterium decomposing a plastic since there is a problem that a plastic is not generally biodegradable, though a biodegradation method using a bacterium is preferable as a method for treating a plastic in terms of the natural environment and to provide a method for decomposing a plastic using the bacterium.
The bacterium belonging to the genus Paenibacillus has ability of decomposing a plastic containing an ester bond in the molecular structure. The method for decomposing a plastic comprises using the bacterium belonging to the genus Paenibacillus.
