To provide a new polymer, a method for producing the polymer, to provide a light-emitting device material using the polymer and having high luminous efficiency, to provide a light-emitting device including the above material, and to provide a method for producing the light-emitting device.

This new polymer is shown by the general formula (1): -(EUG)k-(PMG)m-(NRG)n- or the general formula (2) (where, EUG is a monomer unit including a partial skeleton effective as the light-emitting device material; PMG is a monomer unit containing a polymerizable group; NRG is a copolymerization monomer unit; k, m, n, p and q are each a molar fraction, being 1-99%, 1-99%, 0-98%, 1-99% and 0-99%, respectively, wherein k+m+n=100% and p+q=100%). The other objective method for producing the polymer, the light-emitting device material including the polymer, the light- emitting device including the above material, and the method for producing the device, are provided, respectively.
