To provide a new protein applicable to biology, medical science, veterinary medicine, etc., to provide partial peptides thereof, salts thereof, recombinant vector, and transformant, to provide a method for producing the above new protein, to provide medicaments each containing the above new protein or partial peptide(s), and to provide antibodies to the above new protein or the like.
This new protein is such as to be usable as a prophylactic/ therapeutic agent for diseases including rheumatism, diabetes, microbially infectious diseases, HIV infection, chronic hepatitis B, inflammatory diseases, dermatitis, arthritis, autoimmune diseases, graft-versus-host diseases, asthma, septicemia, osteopathy and cancer, and useful as a reagent for screening compounds or salts thereof promoting or inhibiting the activity of this new protein. The other objective DNA encoding this new protein is provided. Furthermore, antibodies to this new protein, because of being capable of specifically recognizing this new protein, can be used for e.g. quantifying this new protein in liquid test specimens.
