Abstract:
To provide a means and a method for modulating phosphate metabolism which is especially useful for treatment of bone mineral or renal disease.
Disclosed are a new phosphatonin polypeptide derived from humans, a polynucleotide encoding the phosphatonin, and a vector, host cell, antibody and gene recombinant method for producing the polypeptide and polynucleotide. It is possible to diagnose or treat bone mineral or renal disease by using them. Further they are available for a screening method for identifying a binding partner to the phosphatonin.
