Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily prepare a silk fibroin solution containing the sufficiently spread molecules in a high concentration in a short time.
CONSTITUTION: IDA or EDTA is added in an amount equivalent to calcium contained in a silk fibroin to a solvent comprising lithium bromide, ethanol and water in a ratio of e.g. 3:3:2, and the silk fibroin is dissolved in the solvent to easily prepare a silk fibroin solution having a high concentration of 20% in a short time. A fiber, film and covering material prepared from this solution are available for clothing, medical and industrial fields.
