Abstract:
To provide a new structure containing sulfated zirconia effective as a solid acid catalyst and its manufacturing method.
The new structure wherein sulfated zirconium is present at the surface layer part of the structure, particularly the surface layer part from the outer surface of the structure to a portion having a depth of 1-1,000 μm, and sulfated zirconia is not contained in the inside layer being an inert carrier excluding the structure surface layer part by depositing zirconium hydroxide and/or zirconium oxide on the surface layer part of the inert carrier and firing at 350-800°C after the sulfating treatment.
