Abstract:
To provide a new sulfonamide derivative with cholesterol lowering effect, neutral fat reduction effect, and FXR agonist effect that is expected to be effective for treatment of NAFLD and NASH, or a salt thereof, and pharmaceutical compositions containing them.SOLUTION: The invention provides: a new sulfonamide derivative, a typical example of which is 6-{4-[(N-isobutylphenylsulfonamide)methyl]-2-methoxyphenyl}-2-naphthalenecarboxylic acid (general formula (5) in the figure); a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and pharmaceutical compositions containing them.SELECTED DRAWING: None
